Presidents of Estonia and Latvia will meet today in Kuressaare

Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid and Latvian President Egils Levits will meet today in Saaremaa to discuss cooperation in the European Union, regional security, cooperation in the cyber field and environmental issues.

Kuressaare was supposed to host the annual meeting of the Presidents of all three Baltic countries. However the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda decided to stay home at the last minute due to internal affairs.

The day will begin with a public arrival ceremony at the Kuressaare Central Square, followed by the meeting of the Presidents and a press conference. President Egils Levits will also plant an oak tree in the Kuressaare Castle Park and the Heads of State will visit the Kaali Meteorite Crater.

The meeting takes place in Kuressaare in order to draw attention to domestic tourism in the Baltic countries and to invite people to discover the lovely places of all three countries this summer.
