"I was delighted to talk to President Nauseda today about anything as common as defense cooperation or good relations between our countries because we all too clearly remember the extraordinary times and the courage of the people that brought freedom to our countries," said President Kersti Kaljulaid when meeting with his Lithuanian colleague.

This year is important for all three Baltic States since we joined NATO and the European Union 15 years ago. "This was preceded by even greater expression of the will of freedom, and we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way," said President Kaljulaid.

We were brave in the Baltic chain and are still brave now, standing for our values and democracy throughout the world, the Estonian Head of State emphasized. “We are supportive of each other in both good and difficult. The Baltic States do not forget about the partial occupation of Georgia and the war in Ukraine. We are their voice in international organizations, but we also stand for the freedom of our countries and for everyone to respect international rules of the game, ”President Kaljulaid added.

The Lithuanian President, Gitanas Nausėda, is on a working visit to Estonia today and will also meet with the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Riigikogu, and will attend the reception of the restoration of independence in Kadriorg tonight.
