President Ilves: today we will show what kind future we want for our country
President Toomas Hendrik Ilves cast his vote in the elections for the new Riigikogu in Abja Culture House polling division in his home area.
“Each person has to play their part in the elections. It is our constitutional right and constitutional opportunity to express our wishes through the choice we make today in the voting booths,” the Head of State said. “We will show our attitude and what kind of future we want our country to have.”
President Ilves emphasised that these elections to the Riigikogu are the first that will include a large number of young people who have been born and entirely raised in a democratic, independent Estonia.
“The people will decide. The new membership of the Riigikogu expresses the will of the people,” President Ilves told.
Mrs. Evelin Ilves used the opportunity of electronic voting at the elections.
