The former Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ronis, was awarded the high-rank honorary decoration of the Republic of Estonia for participating as an expert in the group involved in the development of NATO’s new strategic concept.
“The strategic concept of NATO provides equally good coverage of the main task of the alliance, namely the protection of its member states and new threats, such as cyber security,” President Ilves said. Such an approach will make NATO more contemporary, stronger, believable and visible.”
President Ilves signed the resolution to award Mr. Aivis Ronis with a high-rank honorary decoration of the Republic of Estonia this year, 2 February, when he acknowledged 99 people with honorary decorations.
