President Kaljulaid to meet in Kadriorg with the Vice President of the United States of America

On Monday, President Kersti Kaljulaid will meet in Kadriorg with the current Vice President of the United States of America, Mike Pence. In the morning, the president and the vice president will take part in a round table conversation in Kadriorg on cyber issues and innovation.

At the meeting of the presidents of the US and Eastern and Central European countries, which took place recently in Warsaw, Kersti Kaljulaid had the opportunity to introduce Estonia's unique digital innovation in a short hallway conversation with Donald Trump. Now there will be an opportunity to present Estonia as a digital society to the White House in a more substantial way.

"At the round table on Monday, we will introduce the innovativeness of Estonia in the sphere of the construction of a digital society to Vice President Pence. Estonia and the United States already co-operate effectively in the sphere of cyber defence, but we would like to take this cooperation further," said the President of the Republic.

At the round table, Siim Sikkut from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication and Taimar Peterkop from the Information System Authority of the Republic of Estonia will introduce cyber defence solutions and co-operation with the USA.

In addition, Vice President Pence and the President of Estonia, Ms Kaljulaid, will meet with the Head of State of the Republic of Latvia, Raimonds VÄ“jonis, and the Head of State of the Republic of Lithuania, Dalia GrybauskaitÄ—. After the meeting, the Baltic heads of state and the Vice President of the United States of America will give a joint press conference. The Commander of the Defence Forces, General Riho Terras, will then introduce the NATO combat group in Estonia. This will involve a meeting with soldiers from the UK, France and Estonia, who belong to the combat group. Vice President Pence will also give a public speech.
